The small Moselle town of Kobern-Gondorf on the Lower Moselle can be reached in less than 20 minutes by car and offers young to old a lot of history and numerous leisure activities. In addition to wonderful hiking trails – a dream trail also starts here – you will find, for example, a fancy adventure golf course, you can go canoeing in the summer and visit the Eifelpark in Gondorf all year round. In addition to many wild animals, the Eifelpark also offers its visitors a daily bird of prey show in winter.
The Moselle town of Cochem is a shining center of the Moselle vacation region and only 25 km away from the Lilienhof. An absolute must for all vacationers of the region no matter if you e.g. hike, take a boat tour, ride up with the chair lift to the Pinner-Kreuz or just picnic at the foot of the Reichsburg on the Mosel meadows.
Koblenz, too, with its many sights – some of them UNESCO World Heritage – and shopping opportunities is always worth a trip. The old town is the heart of Koblenz – nowhere else is the city at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle so original. The historic buildings in the small alleys, the cozy cafes and beautiful stores have a special charm here.on Rhein und Mosel so ursprünglich. Einen besonderen Charme haben hier die historischen Bauten in den kleinen Gässchen, die gemütlichen Cafés und schönen Geschäfte.
From Mayen to Ochtendung and from Polch to Münstermaifeld
The Maifeld Cycle Path (Maifeld-Radwanderweg) connects the town of Mayen with the town of Ochtendung over a distance of about 18 kilometers. Here the cycle path uses the old railroad line from Koblenz via Polch to Mayen. From Polch, a detour of the cycle path leads to Münstermaifeld (10km), also on an old railroad line.
The entire route is asphalted. If you want to ride the whole way there and back, Polch, which is in the “center” of the three star-shaped sections, is a good starting point. Münstermaifeld has a connection to the Moselle valley to Hatzenport.
